Il Volo (English: The Flight) is a trio of Italian pop-opera teenage singers, consisting of Piero Barone (June 24, 1994), Ignazio Boschetto (October 4, 1994), and Gianluca Ginoble (February 11, 1995).
This trio started their career in 2009, when they met on the second edition of the Italian RAI TV music competition chow Ti Lascio Una Canzone, held in Sanremo. On May 2, 2009, Gianluca Ginoble won the compeition, singing "ll mare calmo della sera" by Andrea Bocelli.
